An Exposé of the Asian Dog Meat Trade

A brutal but little known practice runs rampant in some parts of Asia. Each year, millions of dogs are systematically stolen, farmed and traded for torture and slaughter. It is falsely believed that chemicals released during a fearful and tortuous death enhance the taste of the meat and the sexual virility of men who eat it. This underground but lucrative trade is especially prevalent in parts of China, Korea and Indonesia, where protections are few and demand is high.

The filmmakers behind the Oscar shortlisted exposé UNDER OUR SKIN are in development on a new film which aims to expose the dark truth of the dog meat trade, the complex social systems which support it and a few brave activists that toil to stop it.
